Amy is a Senior Associate in Finlaysons’ Insurance team working closely with Partners and Special Counsel in our Darwin offices.

Amy brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspectives that strengthens our commitment to delivering unparalleled service and comprehensive solutions to our clients across all workers compensation and insurance matters.

Amy’s pragmatic and creative approach to work means she provides sensible, but innovative advice on complex and discreet matter.

She is results driven and genuinely care about delivering a positive result for clients that is also commercially sensible.

Amy has a wealth of volunteer experience in the law profession – as well as the local Northern Territory community including:

  • Tutor with the Indigenous Tutorial Support Scheme 2014 – 2022
  • Obtained a Working with Children Ochre Card ‘E’ – Current.
  • Fire Warden at the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission 2011 – 2015.
  • Volunteer with Red Cross ‘Register for Appropriate Support Person’ 2014.
  • Selected to assist the Chief Judge of the Northern Territory Local Court in completing a ‘Self- represented Litigants Project’, 2014.

Experience

Amy is an experienced family lawyer who also has an impressive track record in representing her clients across the following:

  • Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia.
  • Northern Territory Local Court
  • Northern Territory Civil and Administrative Tribunal
  • Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.

Amy has vast experience instructing Counsel in the Court of Criminal Appeal matters and Coronial Inquests.

Amy’s cross over experience from her time working in family law includes litigation and advocacy skills, problem solving and negotiations, complementing her work in insurance.

In 2014, Amy was selected to assist the Chief Judge of the Northern Territory Local Court in completing a ‘Self- represented Litigants Project’ which is a testament to her dedication and commitment to her profession.
